So on tuesday night, Shaboofa died. I went to leave for bible study and she just wouldn’t start. My heart sank, and then my mind went to my wallet, which is a little on the not full side since I just officially signed up for that workshop. I freaked out a little, to be honest. That’s what I do when my car has big issues…I freak out a little. It’s mostly internal and makes me feel like a 5 year old who doesn’t know how to fix what she just broke.
But, wednesday morning the plan was to take her in to the shop. I got ready for the day and was prepared to call AAA to tow her to a mechanic’s. Just before I walked out the door my sweet roomie C grabbed my hand and we prayed for the day to go smoothly and for the car issues to be resolved, and we gave the day over.
I walked out to Shaboofa and figured I should try and start her up just for the heck of it….and what do you know…she started!!! So I drove her to the mechanic’s thinking it was a simple battery issue that could be fixed in a few minutes and then I’d be off to work.
Nope. Not the battery. They said they’d need a few hours to figure it out and fix her up. So, I called a friend, and she sent her mom to pick me up! Again, I felt like a little kid… but it ended up being nice. I’ve know this friend (and, consequently, her mom too) for 12 years now…so we grabbed breakfast and ended up talking about everything from dogs to faith.
The mechanic called and said it might be a mass air flow censor issue…meaning about 500greenones!!! And I freaked out a little more, but knew God would be in it no matter what.
I called to check on it a few hours later, and it turned out to be just a wire and wiring harness issue, with a grand total of 95bucks! Hallelujah!
So I got her back the next day, and so far so good!
Yay for car issues, but atleast she’s running ok for now. My car-savvy dad recommended a general tune up, as a birthday gift…so now I just have to figure out when I can mooch another ride and we’ll be set!
